Guess what? Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are finally working together again! The only thing is, it's not on the big screen, but but behind the scenes...of a new TV sitcom, if you can believe that.
After what is reported to have ben "an intense bidding war," a new half-hour comedy produced by the pair has been picked up by CBS. What's it about? Well, it's about a guy who gives up his job so he can spend more time at home with his wife and kids, only to discover that they don't like having him around—which is to say, it's about Ben Affleck circa 2005, post-Gigli.
No, just kidding. It's not autobiographical. But it is about a guy who gives up a job on the road to be with his family only to discover they don't want him there. It will star comedian Tom Papa, and if you've ever seen his act, then you know that premise is right up his alley.
The pilot for the new show hasn't been shot yet, so it's unclear if CBS will test the show out some this year as a mid-season replacement, or if they'll save it for next year and promote it as one of their big new fall shows. So stay tuned for more details.
