It’s a good year for anyone interested in stalking their favorite celebrity. An Iowan man was cleared of all charges in stalking Kate Beckinsale. And now the man after Madonna was just awarded $455K after being served a steaming hot cup of NYC police brutality. Robert Linhart claimed he was just a fan expressing his affection outside of Madonna’s Upper West Side mansion. He held up signs to let the singer know how much he wanted to meet her. Madonna responded to the unwanted attention by allowing his face to meet the fists of a few cops instead.

The 66-year-old superfan of the Material Girl told the Daily News he'd staged a "love-in" outside her apartment at Central Park West and W. 64th St. with signs reading "Madonna meet me please," "the universe brought us together" and "tell me yes make my dream come true, tell me no I'll die." Madonna wasn't comfortable with the display and called the cops, he said.Police dismantled his signs and threw him in cuffs — an encounter that a six-person jury found involved the use of excessive force.

Robert is a 66-year-old retired firefighter and his stalking situation was more mild than most. If he’s really a deranged man, nearly half a million dollars will just enable him even more. I thought America had a no negotiations policy with terrorists. With the new funds available he can at the very least purchase a DJI drone and watch the superstar get undressed from her window without ever physically trespassing himself. All from the safety of being yards away. It’s always good to have that long of a head start when the police are coming to kick your ass a second time for stalking. Stalking is starting to become a lucrative profession.
