GAMING

For the most part, since 1996, the world's biggest gaming convention has been held in the great city of Los Angeles, California. The Los Angeles convention center has been the building of choice for the ever-growing event but it looks as though LA may lose E3 in 2013.
Although E3 has barely begun, the all-ominous ESA (Entertainment Software Association) is already looking into the location of the event next year. Normally, it would be held in LA like always but LA's contract with E3 is up for renewal and certain uncertainties regarding the construction of 'Farmer's Field' are jeopardizing any chance of that happening.
'We're still in discussions with the city of Los Angeles, but we have a number of issues that still need to be resolved. If we can't resolve them, we are preparing to go elsewhere' -Michael Gallagher, President (ESA)
The major concern regarding the construction is the possible lack of access to the convention center itself with construction planned to start sometime in the summer or fall of 2013 and last for about 30 months. The LA Times have been told that the ESA are already considering other cities including: San Francisco, New York, Chicago and New Orleans.
