Fans had expected the Eastern Conference Finals to be hotly contested this season. They just expected the series to be between the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, not the Boston Celtics.
After two games it appeared that this was going to be a sleeper of a series, but the Celtics showed that there is something to be said for experience and team work. However, in the end the winner was still the team everyone thought it would be.
Boston came out Saturday night looking like a team that wanted to complete the upset. They had beaten the Heat in South Beach in Game 5 so they knew it was possible. After one half it looked as if they had a good chance as they held on to a seven point lead, 53-46.
This game was a tale of two halves though. In the second half it was all LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh all the time as the Heat outscored the Celtics 55-35 in the second half to win the game 101-88.
The game was still tied after three, but the Heat shut down the Celtics in the final period, outscoring Boston 28-15.
Next up will be the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. Whether you love or hate LeBron and the Heat you have to admit one thing. At least the NBA Finals should be epic with these two titans going head to head.
Game One will be Tuesday at 9 PM ET in Oklahoma City.
