Here's probably the most bizarre call you'll see in an NBA game maybe ever. The Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats were going through the motions of a preseason game last night when LeBron James got the ball and drove to the basket hard. Gerald Henderson steps up to try to take a charge, that takes huge balls by the way, but doesn't quite get there in time. No big deal, he gets run over and gets the foul, like it should have been called.
But the ref from the other side of the court runs over and inexplicably gives LeBron a technical foul. The confused announcers think it may have been for flopping, but LeBron didn't flop. Besides that, flop calls are going to be done after the fact by the league office. A Miami Heat reporter tweeted that James got the T for thrusting his chest into Henderson. That makes no sense. The NBA starts in six days. Hopefully we don't see any calls like during the regular season because, well, it was a stupid call.
