Like the film itself, the Honest Trailer for Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is divisive. They've managed to narrow things down to the handful of legitimate gripes and undeniably awesome beats, but there's only so much you can do in five or so minutes. I'm sure that the comments section is the place where the real action happens, as there, under cloak of online anonymity, people can espouse whatever beliefs they like.
The old narrator/new narrator thing they did on The Force Awakens Honest Trailer is wearing a little thin at this point. It makes sense with the dueling opinions on the film, but even the new narrator seems to agree that he's over it. That's probably a good indication that the rest of us are as well.
Personally, once I get paid, I'm buying The Last Jedi Blu-ray and watching it with the commentary on, because I want to hear what Rian Johnson has to say about the film. He recorded that commentary before the film was released, so there's not going to be any direct addressing of certain universally questioned choices, which is fine. J.J. Abrams' commentary on Force Awakens was basically him explaining what's happening in each scene, not unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger's amazing Total Recall commentary. Johnson's has got to be better than that, right? Anyone?
