I’m pretty sure that homosexuals don’t need anyone to champion for their causes in Hollywood anymore. You’re able to find a gay street in every major city the same way you’re always able to find a Chinatown. But for some reason Kit Harington wants to push the issue of seeing same-sex couple superheroes on the big screen. He has a problem with Marvel not casting enough gay male actors. Well Kit, if you care so much, you should volunteer. I have a hard time believing that you’re not gay since you seem to be more in touch with your emotions than attempting to touch Emilia Clarke. Happily ever after with Rose Leslie is a cover up. Every elite heterosexual has at least one MeToo accusation under his belt even if the accusation is complete bologna. And if you’re not into sausage, convert. Then ask Stan Lee for an audition. Problem solved.
Kit Harington brought attention to Marvel’s lack of casting gay male actors as superheroes during his appearance at Variety’s TIFF studio in support of his new movie, “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.” Harington plays the titular character in Xavier Dolan’s English-langauge debut. Donovan is a closeted television actor whose professional career forces him to hide his personal identity. The character’s arc has gotten Harington thinking a lot about the intersection of masculinity and homosexuality in Hollywood.
“There’s a big problem with masculinity and homosexuality that they can’t somehow go hand in hand,” Harington said. “That we can’t have someone in a Marvel movie who’s gay in real life and plays some superhero. I mean, when is that going to happen?”
I can tell Kit is about to be one of those actors that can’t keep quiet until someone throws work his way. He’s at the end of his wash cycle and being hung out to dry. I’m pretty sure most of the people he encounters address him as “that guy from Game of Thrones” rather than his actual name. And that hurts when you realize you’re just another replaceable cog in the entertainment industry. So a random tangent about the lack of Wolverine receiving reach arounds from Sabertooth seems about right now that he’s out of a job.
