One of the biggest, most anticipated movies at this year's Cannes Film Festival is Burning, from Korean director Chang-dong Lee—director of the acclaimed films Secret Sunshine and Poetry—so it makes sense that all the hottest women would want to be seen on the film's red carpet premiere!
A cursory look at the film's imdb page shows that none of these hot ladies on the red carpet actually appear in the film, but it doesn't hurt a two-and-a-half hour foreign film to have a little sex appeal to promote what's likely a dour and depressing film.
Personally, if I had directed a super serious, somber film like this, I'd want Kimberley Garner, Petra Nemcova, Sveva Alviti, and Izabel Goulart to distract people from the harsh truths I was dishing out on screen. It's a trick that's been used by directors since the beginning of time.
So don't be surprised to discover that Burning wins a major prize coming out of the closing of the ceremony, and don't be surprised to find out it was the power of all those hot women that helped nudge it over the finish line. Never underestimate the power of hot women!
