Joaquin Phoenix Wears Full Clown Makeup in Creepy New ‘Joker’ Test Footage (VIDEO)

Production is in full swing on Todd Phillips' Joker, and with leaked set pics making the rounds, Warner Brother decided to get out in front by posting this first official look at Joaquin Phoenix in full Joker makeup. Set to the dulcet tones of The Guess Who's "Laughing," this teaser gives us our first look at the title character's tormented inner life.

Below, you can find some set pics courtesy of The Geek Power on Instagram, which seem to show Phoenix's Joker leading some kind of revolt against Batman's dad Thomas Wayne—originally set to be played by Alec Baldwin, and now played by Brett Cullen. The costume is spot-on comic book accurate to the Neal Adams era, an obvious olive branch to comic book fans unsettled by the character's portrayal in Suicide Squad.

Joker hits theaters in a little over a year, on October 4, 2019.
