Well, if you were hoping to get that date with Jessica Biel, like we were, you're out of luck. People reports that the auction for a date with Jessica, to raise money for a teenager who lost her leg in a prom night limousine accident, was won for $30,000.
On Tuesday, a man identified only as "John" cast the $30,000 bid. He said he was a senior vice president for an oil and gas company in Denver, the Rocky Mountain News reported.
Biel, who was out of the country at the time of the auction, will lunch with the man on Aug. 18.
"I promise, I'm a cheap date," Biel said in a taped message.
The actress's father, Jonathan Biel, said the lunch date was his daughter's idea.
"(Jessica) has this opportunity to create a buzz that would provide some support and she's more than happy to do that," Biel said.
I know it's all for a good cause, so I really shouldn't make fun, but when a "John" pays $30,000 for a date with you, that really says something. It says you're worth a lot of money. What that money buys, is another matter. In this case it's "lunch," and for the normal person, one might feel a bit "obligated," but since it's Jessica Biel, that's probably what lunch costs regularly.
Anyway, more Jessica Biel pictures after the jump, and I don't think it really needs saying, but that "John" guy is one lucky bastard.
