Bryan Singer, director of those first two great X-Men movies and that abomination that was Superman Returns, lit the Twitterverse on fire last night when he tweeted that 'Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @SirPatStew are joining the cast of #XMEN#DaysOfFuturePast#magneto#professorX More to come...' For those who don't speak twit, that means that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are in fact reprising their respective roles of Professor X and Magneto in Singer's X-Men Days of Future Past, the follow-up to X-Men First Class.

Now before you can say 'Holy double casting, Batman!', yes, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are still playing the same roles in the movie as the characters' younger versions, but for any  of you true nerds out there, or those who have basic wikipedia skills, you'll know that the arc of the Days of Future Past story concerns screwing with the space-time continuum, which as we all know always goes exactly as planned. So you'll get a double-dose of the Prof and Magneto and as everyone knows, when Stewart and McKellen's British accents reverberate at the same frequency, they can polish glass.
