Whether you know him best as Rafi from The League, or Tan Pam from Dirty Grandpa, or Nadal in The Dictator, or Frank from The House, or even from his podcast "How Did This Get Made," I guarantee you know and love Jason Mantzoukas. That makes the prospect of him getting a leading role in a film all the more exciting, which is why you'll want to put The Long Dumb Road on your list of movie to watch this fall.
The swarthy actor plays a mechanic who quits his job moments after being fired, who talks a sheltered teen into letting him tag along on his trip to college. His co-star here is Tony Revolori, whom you may know from Grand Budapest Hotel or his role as the new Flash Thompson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the two seem to have a good rapport.
Hannah Fidell is behind the camera for this one, and she is best known for her intense 2013 drama A Teacher, one of those movies that was on Netflix back when they had no original content and then got bumped. It's pretty good, though, you should check it out. It also leads me to believe this may be heavier on drama than the first trailer lets on, but any excuse for more Mantzoukas is a good excuse.
The Long Dumb Road opens in select theaters on November 9 before becoming available On Demand the following Friday.
