Women are allowed so much leeway when it comes to giving gifts. I can’t imagine a world where a male employer gifts any employee a suitcase full of dildos and isn’t reported to HR immediately. But Janet is from another planet as Jackson gave her backup dancer Jenna Dewan a “pleasure chest.” It’s like the big box of 64 Crayola crayons in every color you can imagine but instead of crayons it’s vibrators. Nothing says I appreciate your work ethic like a box full of sex toys from your boss in thermochromic fuchsias and Tiffany Diamond Co. blues.

Before she was an actress on Step Up or a host on World of Dance, Jenna Dewan traveled the world as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson. The star revealed that she would receive many presents from Jackson, 52, when she was touring on the All for You Tour in the early 2000s.

“She’s a very generous boss and would give amazing gifts,” Dewan, 37, told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. But one other gift, in particular, stood out for Dewan. “On Valentine’s Day — mind you, I’m 19 on tour with Janet, I’m baby baby baby naïve — she gives you a box of um … like, vibrators!” “Like a pleasure chest. We all got it, all the dancers. But still, I was like, ‘What is this?’ I was mindblown.”

Honestly Janet gave Jenna a box full of sexual harassment. Luckily Janet doesn’t have a penis or she would be facing prosecution for her cheeky gift. If a man can’t do the same then women shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it either. There needs to be a call for equality. Dick in a box, whether authentic or man-made, is not an appropriate gift to give out at work. I would never work at any establishment where any manager thought it was fine and dandy to award me with a Fleshlight instead of the standard bonus for doing a great job.
