You might not recognize James Rebhorn's name, but I'm almost positive you'll recognize his face.
The well-known character actor appeared in dozens of memorable films and television shows. From Seinfeld to Homeland, from Meet the Parents to Independence Day, Rebhorn is credited with 125 roles, according to IMDB. Sadly, the numbers ends there, as the actor succumbed to melanoma last Friday at the age of 65, a disease he'd been battling with since 1992.
Aside from his work in film and television, Rebhorn was also active in theater, and tried to do at least one play a year. His enjoyment of performing in front of a live audience no doubt stemmed from his time at Wittenberg University, where he majored in theater before going on to receive his masters in fine arts from Columbia University.
Rebhorn is survived by his wife, Rebecca Linn, as well as his two daughters, Hannah and Emma. R.I.P. (Source)
