Despite rumors that they were going to be selling their film division to Disney, Fox is moving forward on at least one more Marvel mutant film, and it's a doozy. X-Men producer extraordinaire—and helmer of the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix—Simon Kinberg has announced that a film is in development based on the character Jamie Madrox, aka Multiple Man, and will star James Franco in the title role.

According to Deadline, Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg is set to pen the script for the film which came about through pretty unusual circumstances. Apparently Kinberg and Franco were going to do a "Hardy Men" film based on the grown-up adventures of the literary sleuths starring Dave and James Franco. When that project fell through, this one came into being and it seems like it's going forward.

Those of you unfamiliar with the character can see his only screen appearance to date in X-Men: The Last Stand where he was played by McSteamy. But don't watch that because it's terrible. If you want to seriously get in on the character, check out The Longest Night arc from "X-Factor." It's far and away the best version of the character and his abilities.
