Michael Garcia - April 17, 2012
It was April 15th, 1947 when Jackie Robinson made his major league debut, ushering in a new era in baseball as the first African-American to play in the Majors.
The moment also had a profound change on culture in America. Since 2004, MLB has celebrated that milestone by having all players wear #42 jerseys in games played on April 15th, while umpires wear #42 patches on their sleeves.
Here are some great pictures from around the league on Jackie Robinson Day.
