Easily the best thing about Spider-Man: Far From Home was when J.K. Simmons returned in the mid-credits scene as Daily Bugle chief J. Jonah Jameson. The character hadn't appeared in live action form on screen since 2007's Spider-Man 3, where he was also played by Simmons. In fact, the Oscar winning actor is so perfect in the role that even Marvel and Sony decided not to recast him when bringing him into the modern Marvel universe.
The video appeared online yesterday to entice people to visit TheDailyBugle.net, a viral marketing site set up to look like Jameson's "Infowars"-esque 21st century version of the fictional news publication. There are "Blip" conspiracy theories all over the website, with folks claiming they were seriously hurt when brought back to life by the Avengers following Thanos' snap.
I'm not sure what sort of long-term viability there is in keeping such a site running, and it will probably go dark as the film fades from the public consciousness, but it's still a fun little thing they put together. If nothing else, it gives us thirty more seconds of the brilliant Simmons riffing as the character he was born to play. Spider-Man: Far From Home is now available On Demand, before coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Blu-ray on October 1.
