South Carolina is an odd place. It's not a bad place, in fact it's rather lovely, but it is strange. So, when I read this story about a group of evil clowns trying to lure children into the woods, I was not surprised that it happened in Greenville, SC. Apparently, starting earlier this month several people dressed as clowns started showing up around the Fleetwood Manor Apartment Complex in Greenville. The apartment complex is near some woods and the clowns have been seen "trying to persuade them into the woods further by displaying large amounts of money." People have heard the rattling of chains and banging at their doors. One man saw "a large-figured clown with a blinking nose, standing under a post light near the garbage dumpster area." Another woman saw a clown waving at her. But the concerning part is them trying to get kids to go to the woods with them.

So, my worst nightmare has come true and Stephen King's IT is happening for real. But it's not just one creepy demonic clown but several. The residents have been warned to keep a close eye on their kids and be in by 10pm. I doubt that's going to stop a determined killer clown.
