Rumour has it that Ben Affleck has been offered the opportunity to direct Warner Brothers Justice League movie, but it seems like the filmmaker is still contemplating whether it's the right decision for him and is yet to provide them with an answer. Maybe he still harbours resentment for being forced to star in the woeful Daredevil. I imagine that a gun was held to his head to make him sign for the role, what other excuse could he have?

Anyway, it is reported that Affleck is their number one choice for the positon and is the only man to have received Will Beall's screenplay. And having directed the likes of The Town, Gone Baby Gone and Argo it's clear why his talent is in demand.

The Avengers success has lead to Hollywood's elite looking for their own superhero franchise with Justice League being the perfect series next to launch! But here are some rules that they'll need to follow in order for it to succeed.

Hire the right director - Whether it's Affleck or not, the producers need to make sure that they get the right man behind the camera. They'll need to be well versed in the world of the Justice League to the point that they probably got beaten up at school because of their infatuation with the comic and have a clear vision for the franchise's future.

Don't bother the director - The reason why The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises have been so successful, both critically and financially, is because Joss Whedon and Chris Nolan were given free reign over the control of the films. Producers shouldn't bog them down with notes about characters who could be involved for financial reasons. Stop being so greedy!

Pick the right characters - If you though that The Avengers had some egos in it wait till you check out the personalities involved in JL. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash are household names and even if you've never held a comic book in your life you know about them. Whedon was just about able to mix each of his characters but don't be surprised if one of the big names is left out of the first Justice League movie just so the rest of them have some space to breath.

Be original - It would be easy to just copy Nolan's Batman, Snyder's Superman or the tone of The Avengers but whoever is put in charge needs to make it unique and implant his own personality onto the piece. Otherwise we might find ourselves getting a bit bored of the super bastards.

Plan its release carefully - With a second addition of The Avengers, Thor, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Captain America and probably at least half a dozen other superhero movies set to be released over the coming years it seems like the market is quite saturated at the moment. The Justice League needs to find a hole in the market where they can show what each of their members are capable of.
