Instagram Is Stripper Shaming

Sometimes some women don’t want a real job. Why actually work a nine to five when you can sell suggestive photos of yourself to sleazeballs on social media. That’s what most strippers, sex workers, and aspiring sluts were already doing. But that just got a little harder as Instagram censored the stripper hashtag. Which means it’s one less way for men like me to find and support single mothers by tipping them singles through Venmo and Apple Pay. It looks like the secret society of prude women have been working overtime and finally have a win under their belt after reporting the hashtag as inappropriate every opportunity they got.

Instagram has sparked an outcry by censoring the hashtag #stripper and several related keywords that dancers use to find each other and organize online. Now, sex workers are taking to social media to spread the word, decry censorship, and suggest workarounds.

Currently, when you search Instagram for #stripper or #strippers, you are given a preview of just a couple “top” posts in the category. But if you click through to view the entire hashtag, the following message appears: “Recent posts from #strippers are currently hidden because the community has reported some content that may not meet Instagram’s community guidelines.”

What kind of puritanical monsters petitions a social media platform to censor nipples after they were just freed a few years ago? It’s like the world no longer makes sense. I bet this is the work of Tennessee lawmaker Diane Black who is blaming school shootings on pornography. She probably believes that strippers from Instagram inspire individuals to drive their vehicles through areas crowded with pedestrians as well. Far from the truth. The only thing strippers are capable of causing others to do is to visit their doctor or divorce lawyer after a fulfilling their personal fantasies for a moderate fee.
