Michael Garcia - November 29, 2012
This was not the kind of game the Lakers were expecting to ever have, not with their roster and not with head coach MikeD'Antoni's high tempo offense. Los Angeles managed just 77 points last night, at home, in a 79-77 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Kobe Bryant was playing through the flu, but still put up 28 shots on his way to 40 points. Yes, he scored more than half of L.A.'s points. The rest of the Lakers combined to shoot 12 of 48. Yikes.
The game was tied at 77 and Indiana had the ball for the final possession. George Hill calmly dribbled the clock down to four seconds and basically went right down the lane, lofted up a one handed layup way up off the board, got a kind bounce and the ball dropped through for the win. The Lakers dropped to 7-8 on the year.
