Fans of fantasy epic Game of Thrones were very excited when they heard that gruff-voiced actor Ian McShane was going to be in season 6 of the wildly popular show. Then, in an interview with BBC Radio 5, he pretty much gave away who his character is to anyone whose read the books. (Spoiler Alert) When he said,
"The character is like a former warrior who has renounced violence and now leads this peace cult around wherever they are...But also I have nursed a loved character, a much loved character, back to life, and it reintroduces, I won't say him or her. But it's a character that's much loved who everybody thinks has died, and he's not dead."
It became clear that he is playing The Elder Brother, a peaceful dude and the person he nurses back to health is possibly The Hound. Twitter went insane wanting to gnash Ian's bones for the possible spoilers he gave away. But McShane does not give an F. He said, in response to the backlash,
"You say the slightest thing and the Internet goes ape. I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think, 'Get a f**king life.' It’s only tits and dragons."
I love Game of Thrones but it's actually a pretty good description of the story. I would add gratuitous violence and you've pretty much summed it up. Suck it, fanboy.
