No thanks to all the scammers and spammers out their, your online data is no longer safe. Especially if you happen to the type who gets careless with your information. There's a reason why many people are deleting their profiles from social media and networking sites: because they're a potential disaster just waiting to happen.
If you're not very savvy with tweaking your privacy settings and set everything to public, then don't be surprised if your identity gets swiped right under your nose. Luckily for us all, the EMC and RSA worked together to come up with this Online Identity Risk Calculatorso you can assess just how much you are (or aren't) at risk when it comes to getting your identity stolen.
So basically the calculator just asks you a series of questions about certain online activities, like online banking and online shopping. After submitting your response to each, you'll be presented with a warning in the form of a shocking statistic that'll make you want to stop using the Internet altogether. But of course, you won't. We all won't.
Suffice to say, we have now all been warned.
