TV & FILM

The Avengers is the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time, so it makes sense that Marvel would want to milk the franchise for all it's worth. A sequel for the movie is already in the works, but that's apparently not enough as Marvel is looking to take the mighty superhero team to the small screen.
News of a deal between Marvel Studios and ABC to develop a TV series for The Avengers is already making the rounds. And while it's still "a kernel of an idea" at this point, it seems like too lucrative an idea for both parties to turn down.
But this begs the question: is an Avengers television series really necessary? The Avengers might have enjoyed huge success at the box office, but a TV show seems like over-saturating media channels with the franchise already. Note that the Avengers already have an animated series in the form of Disney XD's The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the upcoming Avengers Assemble.
Too much of a good thing just makes it bad. But what do you think?
Weigh in: Are you psyched to see the Avengers have its own television series? Or does the idea seem like a huge bust?
