Next Friday, Alien: Covenant hits theaters nearly five years after the first Alien prequel Prometheus. While that film certainly looked nice and had some great set pieces, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who really likes it that isn't an apologist. The greatest hope for Alien fans is that they can stop having to apologize for liking a film and be given one that's undeniably fantastic.
HBO's First Look takes us on the set of the film with this short video that shows off a bunch of locations and just how many practical effects have gone into the film's making. The full special debuts tonight on HBO at 9:45 pm, but if you're not an HBO subscriber, this tease should be enough to whet your appetite for the film's release.
The other interesting thing to note is that Michael Fassbender is credited as playing a character named Walter...
Does this mean he's not playing David from Prometheus or is he trying to create a new identity? I'm not sure what's up, but it might be the biggest bombshell revelation in the entire video. We'll all find out for sure one way or another when Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19.
