Pull that Hogwarts cloak from the bottom of your closet and get ready to get your Hufflepuff on because Harry Potter is coming to the London Stage. Bazillionaire author JK Rowling announced that she wrote a new play called Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. It will be filling up the Palace Theater in London's West End with nerds in 2016. She wrote it with playwright Jack Thorne and will have music by Imogen Heap. The play will tell the tale of Harry's parents before they get zapped by Lord Voldemort. Asked why she is doing it as a play and not a novel, Rowling says that the story can only be told on the stage. Maybe.
Or maybe she just didn't want to write another long ass 700 page novel. As a writer I can understand that. It's much easier to write a 120 minute script. I don't know how she was able to come up with that much magical hoobajoob in the first place. The only thing is I don't know how the hell she's going to do all that magic stuff on stage. I was a theater major in college and I know how hard it is to do effects on stage without them looking hella goofy. Maybe Egotastic's parent company will send me to London to review the show?
