Most people I know drink at least two cups of coffee a day: one in the morning so they can get over their hangover from the previous night, and another one after lunch so they can stay awake to get through until the end of the day. If you're a Starbucks kind of guy or gal, then you know this can become a pretty expensive habit to keep.
I'm a self-confessed coffee-holic and I love my coffee fresh and steaming hot, which is why I don't like drinking early morning-made coffee in a thermos. My options used to be limited to unfresh homemade coffee or adds-up-t0-a-lot-after-a-while Starbucks cups of joe, until the Handpresso Auto came along.
So what exactly is the Handpresso Auto? If you can't tell from how it looks and from its name, then let me fill you in. It's an ultra-portable and extremely handy espresso machine in the shape of a tiny thermos-slash-tumbler. It was shaped that way so you could fit it into the cup holder of your car. It's also designed for travel because it plugs right into your car's lighter socket to power up.
To make a fresh cup of espresso, all you have to do is add water and an Easy Serving Espresso (ESE) espresso pod of your choice into the machine, press, and wait a few seconds before your steaming hot espresso flows into the cup, ready for you to drink and enjoy. Isn't this the life?
Preparation is so easy that you probably can't get it wrong, even if you're still half-drunk. Christina Aguilera probably needed this when she was arrested for public drunkenness early on a Tuesday morning when she was fresh from her divorce last year.
The Handpresso Auto is available online for 149.00€ ($197). It might seem pricey at first, but think of it as an investment that will pay off in time.
