GAMING

Some things are just guaranteed. Tediously inevitable. You will step on your kids’ legos barefoot on a Monday morning as you shuffle bathroom-wards for your morning pee. When you softly drop your cellphone onto the couch, it will bounce eight times, be propelled 30,000 feet into the air, knock over a lamp, take down a couple UFOs and concuss the cat on its way down to earth. Shit happens, as we know, and this is the kind of shit we’re talking.
AAA games getting updates out the wazzoo is also just as predictable. With top-testicle Xbox One and PS4 exclusives being as rare as they are, they’ve got to be pimped out to the hilt when they do hit. I’m looking at you, Halo 5.
343’s latest entry in the now-Bungieless franchise had monthly expansions for a while there. In the game’s defense, though, they were all given dramatically badass names like Hammer Storm, Ghosts of Meridian and Infinity’s Armor. There wasn’t an April update, but you can be damn sure there’ll be a May one. Gents, meet Memories of Reach.
As Halo fans will know, this is a throwback to previous series entry Halo Reach. The content focuses on Emile, Jun and Jorge-based reqs (not Carter, his armor’s already in the game), just to get the whole Noble team into the action. You can check out the new Vigilant, Intruder and Indomitable reqs over on GameSpot.
As well as this, the much-beloved Infection game mode is coming back, along with a new Arena map dubbed Stasis. The Memories of Reach content is on its way later this month; 343 will be giving us a closer look in a livestream next week.
