When I was a kid I thought that the future was going to be like the Jetsons. One of the things that you saw a lot on that show was robots doing menial tasks for their lazy human overlords. I distinctly remember George Jetson's shower routine. Robotic arms appeared in the shower to brush his teeth, scrub his body, wash his ass, etc. But it turns out, like a lot of things, that show was way off about the future. But we are one step closer with this hair washing robot invented by Simone Giertz. It doesn't do much deep washing but it will do the trick. I would never install it in my shower, though. What if the singularity happens while I'm in the shower? Then the hand becomes a super powerful claw that rips my head off? No thanks.
Haven't these roboticists seen The Terminator? We need less robots in our daily lives, not more. When the crap goes down, (and it will go down), we don't want any robots nearby. In the meantime I will be armed with my crowbar to smash any robot that tries to touch me.
