GAMING

Remember Silent Hills? That was going to be a slice of rawest, purest badassery right there. A Silent Hill reboot sort of deal, helmed by the ever-batshit Hideo Kojima and equally batshit director Guillermo Del Toro? What's not to like?
These two creative nutbags would have come up with something truly special, there's no doubt about that. Sadly, that whatever-in-holy-hell-it-was that happened betwixt Kojima and Konami saw the project cancelled. And both parties were kinda pissed about the whole thing.
Del Toro, in particular, has had his gaming projects dumped on midway through before. So you'll excuse the guy for being a lil' bitter, and having a good old bitch when he and Kojima were interviewed at DICE.
‘The storytellers look ahead to see what they can discover, and the money people look back... that's the safe route,' he said, going on to say that creativity in video games in limited by ‘the bastards with the money.'
At this point, Destructoid reports, the interviewer quoted Del Toro's earlier remarks about being done with gaming. His response?
‘Except with this man,' gesturing towards Kojima. ‘I'll do whatever the f**k he wants.'
The only question left, then, is what the f**k does Kojima want? The Metal Gear maestro doesn't seem to know, and confirmed nothing, only hinting that their next project together will likely be a game or movie. Whatever it happens to be, I'm sure going to keep an eye on it.
