While Gigi Hadid's sister and mother must contend with self-diagnosed lyme disease and the various available Amazon home-blood transfusion kits that go with, Gigi has herself been keeping silent about her own Hashimoto's disease. Hashimoto's disease is the silent killer of numerous supermodels, a thyroid condition that requires you to be super skinny and eat nothing but eggs for weeks before fashion catwalks. Not all diseases are simple or convenient like cancer.
This might explain the sickly slender and ripped ab muscles Hadid sported during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, remarked by many women on social media who find blatant jealousy to be their higher calling. You were mocking Hashimoto's disease all along. Now how shitty do you feel, Peggy?
Hadid claims she's not so much into traditional workouts, but finds exercise solace by visiting boxing gyms in cities she visits because she's an avid pugislit and boxing gyms accept you simply for how you punch in the ring. It's unclear what kind of power an anorexic Hashimoto stick and move fighter delivers, but suffice it to say, Mickey's in her corner with the bucket.
Hadid has decided to stay off social media for the holidays. She's referring to the move as one of the most empowering of her life. We've come a long way from the Greatest Generation. Those fuckers killed Hashimoto.
