It was all quiet on the Mortal Kombat front for some time, until the franchise was rebooted in 2011. That release brought us all manner of sweet, sweet nastiness, like X-ray attacks and a playable Freddy Krueger. Because sometimes, you need a quick cutscene showing you the precise bones and/or bodily organs you're rupturing on your opponents.
Of course, this drew the fist-shaking, torch-and-pitchfork-waving attentions of media types, some of whom thought that Little Jimmy wouldn't want to see tibias, fibulas and primulas (wait, that's a cheese spread) snapping in full HD glory. Well, hold on to your balls, Little Jimmy, because Mortal Kombat X has been revealed and it's pulling no punches.
What better way to make the announcement than with that age-old battle, Sub-Zero vs Scorpion? These two veteran ass-whuppers have been going at it since that incident with Sub-Zero's girlfriend years ago. As we know, an integral part of the honorable badass ninja code is bros before hos, and the pyromaniac pugilist needs to learn to put his dick away.
Sure, none of that last bit is actually true. But one thing is certain: when these two fight, it all ends in tears. Or ghastly decapitate-y Fatalities, one of the two. And if Wiz Khalifa wants to get his rap on in the background, so much the better.
