Games With Gold Doubles Up; Get Your Pirate On For Free This Month

What's better than getting something for free? Generally, nothing, that's what. As dear ol' grandma used to say, paying for something? Eff that. Well, this one's for you, grandma.

Turns out, that's not actually a rhetorical question. There is one thing better: getting something for free followed by a second, also free, something. And now, thanks to Microsoft, Xbox One owners everywhere can live that dream.

Oh yes indeed. Starting this month, the Games With Gold program will offer up a second Xbox One title for download, for zero of your earthly cents. The releases are staggered, with one game becoming available on the 1st and the second on the 15th, but you'll get a full month from that day to download each.

This new system kicks off with a huge title, too: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag can be yours any time from July 1-31. Two weeks later, comparatively unknown platformer So Many Me will hit, if that's your bag too. Over on 360, you can get yourself Plants Vs Zombies and/or Gears of War 3, which is also pretty sweet.
