Despite earlier mentions of LA possibly losing E3 in 2013 due to 'a number of issues', ESA President Michael Gallagher has now stated that they have just signed a three year contract with Los Angeles to host E3 through 2015.
We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry's biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA - Michael Gallagher, President (ESA)
Gallagher went on to stress how 'video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace' and that there is 'no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.
All of this is fine and dandy by me. Although I live nowhere near LA, I would prefer that the ESA sticks to what works and what works in this case is the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Apparently the major construction issues with the nearby 'Farmer's Field' will no longer be an issue as previously believed. While Mr. Gallagher has mentioned nothing about the construction specifically, the contract signing speaks for itself.
Hmm...now if only I could get them to make a Canadian E3...
