If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. Apparently this advice has left the sandbox and followed Fuller House’s showrunner Jeff Franklin into adulthood. He’s been officially cancelled courtesy of Warner Bros. TV not tolerating the growing list of complaints about him. He’s being accused of verbally abusing the staff and openly making comments about his relationship and sex life. In all honesty that sounds like something pretty tame to be fired over. Yelling at that one lazy intern to get their shit together because the lighting sucks while loudly stewing over why showrunners don’t get laid anymore shouldn’t be reasons to not have your contract renewed.
Franklin has been accused of being verbally abusive to staffers and making inappropriate statements in the writers’ room, including making sexually charged comments about his personal relationships and sex life. Franklin has not been accused of directly sexually harassing or engaging in physical misconduct with any staffers.
Sometimes it’s rough always explaining to the 20-year-olds at the bar you’re trying to bang exactly what you do and why you won’t slide her number to Uncle Jesse when you know him. He’s not even being accused of sexual assault or harassment but the MeToo umbrella includes men losing their jobs over being mean and hurting too many employee feelings. If we just start firing upper management for being assholes the entire workforce would come to a halt. It’s possible that he may have had a rigid personality, are second chances not a thing anymore?
