Ah, Five Nights at Freddy's. The basic plot's like something out of a half-assed low budget horror movie some college kids filmed in their basement, and the jump scares are as cheap as holy hell, but still. This is an internet phenomenon, right here.
There's no Youtube fodder like Freddy's. ‘Entertainers' across the world are raking in the cashtacular by howling and/or gurning like mofos at the game and its two sequels. Or should I say (and how's this for a badass segue on a Monday morning)... three sequels?
Yes indeed. We've known that Five Nights at Freddy's 4 has been on the way for some time, and one man development team Scott Cawthon has confirmed its release date: August 8. As fans will know, this is the first anniversary of the original release, which shows just how far the series has come so fast.
Over on Reddit, Cawthon also confirmed that the game won't be neglecting its scaretacular roots: there'll be a free update and DLC content arriving on October 31st. In the meantime, for all the plushtraps, encrypted secrets and general creepiness you can handle, check out this Freddy's 4 footage below:
