It's no coincidence that we've got a new political comedy in the form of The Campaign in our hands, with the actual 2012 US presidential elections coming up at the end of this year.
There's no room for politics here, though, except for the make-believe kind, as Will Ferrell goes up against Zach Galifianakis for a congressional seat in their North Carolina district. You can expect manners and decorum to go out the door as both candidates scramble and fight dirty to win the elections.
If you're ready for some laughs, then hit the 'play' button in the player above to watch the first TV spot from The Campaign. And when you're done, sound off and tell us: Who's got your vote?
When long-term congressman Cam Brady (Ferrell) commits a major public gaffe, a pair of wealthy CEOs put up a rival candidate and gain influence in their district. Their man: naïve Marty Huggins (Galifianakis). As Election Day closes in, the two are locked in a dead heat, with insults quickly escalating to injury until all they care about is burying each other.
The Campaign stars Jason Sudeikis, Katherine LaNasa, Dylan McDermott, and John Lithgow alongside Ferrell and Galifianakis and will hit theaters on August 10th.
