Metal Gear maestro Hideo Kojima isn’t the kind of guy to give any effs. Ever. He’s about as close as the gaming industry gets to a rock star, along with other eccentric nutbags like Street Fighter’s Yoshinori Ono and Suda 51.
If you’ve seen some of the crazitude Kojima gets up to on Twitter, or the cinematic weirdness that oozes from every pore of Metal Gear Solid, you know all of this damn well. You’ll also know about the mysterious falling-out betwixt Kojima and Konami.
Whatever the hell it was that happened between the two as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain hit release, Kojima left the company and was off to form his own independent crew. That was a little while ago now, and we were all wondering just what the hell this guy would come up with now he’s been let off the leash. Now, a trailer for his latest project has hit E3 2016, and… well, we’re still wondering.
Kojima’s latest is named Death Stranding, and according to the man himself, there’s going to be a lot of ‘action.’ Not just straight-up action, but ‘something completely different from what they’re used to.’ Whoever they are.
Other than that? It’s anyone’s guess what the deal is with this one. The teaser below (fresh from IGN) tells us less than no trailer at all, but that is the dude from The Walking Dead. That's something, I guess.
