In another step towards the end of large, clunky video game consoles, Duo Games has revealed the first ever dual analog iSO video game controller. Made in conjunction with Gameloft, the controller will run off two AA batteries and will connect with your iPod, iPhone or iPad wirelessly via Bluetooth technology.

The controller will also feature your typical directional pad and action buttons as well as left and right triggers and a nifty stand that can support your smart device, thereby probably making you look like a HUGE nerd. Also, I imagine it would be pretty top heavy.

So far, five Gameloft titles have received the appropriate updates to support the controller:

  • Asphalt 7: Heat
  • Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front
  • Modern Combat: Fallen Nation
  • N.O.V.A. 3
  • Order and Chaos Online

While the selection is still small, Duo Games' controller could be the next step towards making tablets the future of gaming. Gameloft has promised more titles in the near future and, granted the controller actually works well, the opportunities are endless for future iSO games.

The 'Duo Gamer' will be available for $79.99 in the Apple Store as well through various retailers such as Amazon and Target once it hits store shelves in the coming days.
