While it's not officially connected to the MCU, the only big Marvel event we have to look forward to in the rest of 2018 is the third season of Netflix's Daredevil. Arguably the strongest Netflix series, the third season looks to refocus on Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), or at least his alter ego Daredevil, with very little—if any—interference from Punisher or anyone else fighting crime in New York.
As the last of the heavy hitters to get a post-The Defenders seasons, Daredevil's got the rise of Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) to deal with in this third season, not to mention all of his Defenders pals think he's dead following the events of that series. It looks like Daredevil's going back to his season one getup. Costume changes have been a part of this character's schtick from the beginning. Wake me when they get to the yellow and maroon look.
It also looks like they could be going back to the old mid-90sFrank Miller/D.G. Chichester story where Murdock fakes his death after his secret identity is uncovered. That was the era when I started reading the comics, so I'm biased, but I feel this show best captures the Frank Miller era of the character. Either way, it's a pretty damn exciting time to be a comic book fan.
Daredevil Season 3 drops on Netflix, in its entirety, on October 19.
