Dan O’Brien Won Olympic Gold but Hasn’t Mastered Sitting in a Chair

I kid, I kid. Dan O'Brien, who won gold in the decathlon in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics, is considered one of the finest athletes of 1990s, and I'm sure therefore is rather coordinated. However, Dan took a hilarious spill while sitting down with NBC Sports' Michelle Beadle for an interview.

Several things could be in play here. Maybe the sound guy (or whoever he is in the blue jacket) sabotaged O'Brien by improperly setting up the chair. Maybe Beadle, a recent transplant to NBC from ESPN, wanted to get a clip to go viral so people would know where she was now.

Either way, it's good for a laugh, and more than likely it was just one of those random things. Or was it? I'm just glad Dan was able to laugh it off like a good sport.
