Update: 9:00am DeSoto police said today in a news conference that Bryant slapped his mother and pulled her hair. They say the injuries weren't apparent Saturday night, but when the swelling and bruising became visible, that's when the decision was made to arrest Bryant on the domestic violence charge.
The problems of Dez Bryant just keep piling up. Stories like his are the ones that Hollywood filmmakers love to use to make inspiring sports-themed movies--provided his gets a happy ending, that is.
Bryant was in hot water last year for going on wild spending sprees when he didn't have the money to pay for them. His debts to a New York-based jeweler racked up to $246,000, while he owed another jeweler and broker over $600,000 for tickets and personal loans.
The latest problem for Dez is that he was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge in DeSoto, Texas.
Saturday night, police received a call reporting a domestic incident. Bryant was eventually charged with a Class A misdemeanor for assaulting a female family member, although police refrained from commenting on Bryant's relationship with the assaulted party. Bryant turned himself in without incident and was booked on Monday.
He feels bad about having to find out that a warrant was out and having to turn himself in but I know that we're going to be cooperating with law enforcement to bring this thing to closure. He's kind of down right now. The reality is we haven't heard a lot about Dez Bryant at all since the season.

When asked how he was doing by News 8 reporter Rebecca Lopez, Bryant didn't downplayed the incident and responded: "I'm good, I'm good."
Let's hope that's the one who was assaulted can say the same for herself.
