Charlize Theron Will Be Your Father Figure in New ‘Atomic Blonde’ Clip (VIDEO)

Hands down one of the most anticipated movies of the summer has to be Atomic Blonde, and this new clip goes a long way toward proving that statement true. Charlize Theron is another badass assassin in the vein of John Wick—fitting since this comes to us from one of that film's co-directors—and here we see her making short work of various Eastern Bloc baddies, all while the dulcet tones of the late, great George Michael ring out in the background.

While I never thought I needed to see an action sequence set to the crooner's "Father Figure," I must admit that it proves to be fittingly ironic as a woman beats the hell from a never-ending procession of male soldiers. On the outside chance you're not sold on this movie based upon its pedigree alone, I should remind you that it features a hot lesbian sex scene between Charlize and Sofia Boutella, so keep that in mind as you open your mouth to deride the film. 

The dog days of summer are the perfect time to inject some action back into the box office, and I think we're all going to be lining up for this one, not just because of the promise of air conditioning and buttery popcorn. While those things are indeed fantastic, they pale in comparison to everything else this film promises. Atomic Blonde hits theaters on July 28.
