Nuketown 2025 is the updated version of the cramped and cluttered, yet beloved Nuketown map to be included in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. You'd think that citizens in 2025 would be just as scared of nuclear war as we are now in 2012. Part of the appeal of the Nuketown multiplayer map in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops came from the fact that the game was set during the height of the Cold War where the mysteries and total destruction of nuclear war were very much on the minds of frightened Americans. The Nuketown map was done up to look like a hard simulation area where the military would train for suburban combat missions in the 1950s....or just a life size collection of dollhouses to be obliterated by tactical nukes. Never did figure that one out.
Back in the 50s and 60s, it was a different story. I mean, we've had all kinds of songs, movies and pop culture moments to take the sting off of nuclear war that our timid ancestors didn't have in the 1950s. Go ahead ask your parents and grandparents how timid they were back then.
