As good as Marvel's movie output has been this year, don't go to sleep on their 2018 lineup, starting with February's Black Panther which looks pretty badass. Creed director Ryan Coogler steps into the MCU with the first non-white male superhero movie since the franchise began with 2008's Iron Man.
Chadwick Boseman is taking a break for playing groundbreaking African Americans like Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall, returning to the role he created in Captain America: Civil War. As T'Challa, the new king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, Boseman will face off against Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger and Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaue, but he'll have help from his elite fighting force known as the Dora Milaje, represented here by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o and Walking Dead star Danai Gurira.
Even with Killmonger eventually suiting up to look exactly like an evil version of the hero, I think this film has unlimited potential to be a really kick ass entry in the MCU. The wait for this flick is shorter than you think as it hits theaters a mere three months after Thor: Ragnarok and three months before Avengers: Infinity War. Black Panther hits theaters on February 16.
