Ironically enough, to many people, the idea of a Fargothat does not end (SPOILER ALERT!) with Steve Buscemi getting jammed through a wood chipper just doesn't sound all that appealing. However, that's exactly what we're getting in the new TV adaptation of the Oscar-winning Coen Brothers flick—a completely Buschemi-less Fargo.

Don't fear, though. The TV adaptation of Fargo will not be devoid of weirdos. Today FX announced that Sling Blade himself, Billy Bob Thornton, has been inked to play a character named Lorne Malvo, a rootless and manipulative man who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, 'meets a small-town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction.'

What does that mean, exactly? I don't really know. But apparently Billy Bob's character is vaguely inspired by Buschemi's Carl Showalter, and that sounds pretty great to me.

Fargo, a 10-episode 'limited series,' will debut on FX in the spring of 2014.
