Every kid who's heard of Batman wants to be a Batman. Not only because he's filthy rich or smart as hell, but also because he's got the most awesome, high-tech gadgets that money can buy--starting with the Batmobile.
It's sleek, it's fast, and it looks awesome. And now someone has made a street-legal replica of the car (pictured above) that sold for £72,800 (about $118,000+) last November 30th at Mercedes-Benz World UK. This beauty was modeled after the car Batman drove in Tim Burton's Batman which was released back in 1999.
The original car was built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis with a Chevrolet V8 engine. All the gadgets (aside from the Cocoon-mode) on the Keaton-mobile in both movies were fully functional although the exhaust after-burner could only be run for 15 seconds at a time due to the amount of fuel it consumed. A Jet turbine engine delivers 1,5000lbs. of thrust which powers this sensational creation from 0 to 60mph in less than 3.7 seconds.
You're no Michael Keaton, but you'll have just as many girls fawning over you if you're in the driver's seat of this bad-ass car.
