Christopher Nolan'sDark Knight trilogy may have ended, but the Batman franchise is alive and well thanks to its heroic ability to make money off of nerds like me. Case in point, Beware the Batman, which premieres on Cartoon Network Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. (ET/PT). I haven't woken up at 10 a.m. on a Saturday in seven years, but because of this show, I'm strongly considering it. Oh, wait! I have a DVR! Crisis averted.
Beware the Batman seeks to differentiate itself from previous installments of the franchise not only with its unique computer-animated style, but also by utilizing lesser known villains of the DC universe such as Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. To be honest, that sounds more like a ride at Disneyland than a Gotham City rouges' gallery, but whatever. If I can accept The Penguin as plausible, should I really be questioning a dude named Professor Pyg? Probably not.
