Andrew Luck made it official today, signing his contract to be the QB of the Indianapolis Colts, just one day after number two pick Robert Griffin III signed his deal with the Redskins. Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted the pic of Luck putting his name to the deal, the standard 4-year rookie contract with a team option for the fifth year.
Ever since the NFL started slotting rookie pay, the whole thing has gone much smoother and there really is no reason for anyone to hold out. You get picked at Y, you get paid Z. So Luck will be making a bit more than Griffin's fully guaranteed $21.1 million, and rightfully so.
The big money comes in the second contract, if they get there. Congratulations Indy, you got your man. And remember, Peyton Manning went 3-13 his first year. Enjoy!
