Hopefully the poor box office results from Action Point’s opening weekend will not deter the bankrolling of any future Johnny Knoxville ventures. I have grown up watching his stunts, and living in a world where that is no longer a part of my life makes me question the purpose of living. If movies are no longer being made that allow me to watch a grown man take a nut shot for the amusement of others then what are future movies going to be about?
If that means there are going to be even more movies where Meryl Streep puts on a different accent—in what I am convinced is an attempt to use every one on film in existence—then I think it might be time to pull the plug on Hollywood. It had a good run, but I do not need that in my life.
But that does not mean I want more Knoxville at any cost. If no more Knoxville means we can avoid having him turn into a present day Adam Sandler then it might be worth living with that empty feeling. This might sound crazy, but sometimes young beautiful women are not enough to carry a script.
